OZ Low-Down

Dear Readers,

Our little puppy (Mojo) of only 6 months of age had a nasty accident recently which resulted in a badly broken leg. She was immediately taken to our local vet, where they sedated her and bandaged the leg. After the night at the vet we had been advised to take her to The Animal Surgery Centre where she would need an operation to be carried out by a specialist. The surgery is one of only very few in Australia that perform such operations. All was quite a shock to us but with out thinking twice we agreed to go ahead with the surgical procedure, of course you only want the best for your dog as they are part of the family!!

On arrival at the Surgery in rather a state, the staff were very understanding and most helpful. Along with a few other dog owners we were attended to immediately. They informed us entirely of the procedure and the expectations to follow after the operation.

The type of break to the bone meant that she would require a plate and pins in her leg for the rest of her life. This sort of surgery came with great cost; however they took great care of our puppy and communicated with us at each step of the process. Complete professionals with great experience and qualifications. At no point was Mojo in pain or discomfort and had the attention of the staff 100%. It’s very relieving to know that your puppy is in such good hands during a very stressful time.

The operation was performed the same day but Mojo was required to stay overnight for observations. We were then able to collect her the next day and take her home. After eight weeks we were required to take Mojo back to see her progress. On return to the surgery we had great news of a very successful recovery and healing.

We wish to thank the team at Animal surgery Centre for their wonderful work on Mojo. She is now completely recovered and very active with a fully fixed leg.
